Who We Are

KilowattLogic (kilowattlogic.com) is a commercial energy procurement intelligence platform operated in the United States. We provide market analysis, rate benchmarks, and procurement tools for commercial and industrial energy buyers.

What Data We Collect

Email Subscriptions

When you subscribe to our Market Pulse newsletter or other email communications, we collect:

  • Email address — provided by you voluntarily
  • Source page — the page you were reading when you subscribed (e.g., a specific news article)
  • Interest tags — automatically derived from the content you were reading (e.g., “iso-markets,” “natural-gas”). These are used solely to send you relevant market intelligence
  • Timestamp — when you subscribed

We do not collect your name, phone number, physical address, or any other personal information through our newsletter signup.

Rate Analysis / Quote Requests

When you use our Savings Calculator or request a rate analysis, we collect the information you voluntarily provide, which may include:

  • Work email address
  • Company name
  • State
  • Approximate monthly energy usage

This data is used exclusively to provide you with a personalized rate analysis and procurement guidance.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate site traffic patterns. GA4 collects anonymized usage data such as pages visited, session duration, and general geographic region. We do not use this data to personally identify any visitor.

How We Use Your Data

  • Newsletter subscribers receive periodic market intelligence emails relevant to their derived interests. We currently publish a Tuesday Market Pulse email.
  • Rate analysis leads are used to provide procurement recommendations and connect you with competitive energy supply options.
  • Analytics data is used to improve our content and identify which market topics are most valuable to our readers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Period.

We use the following service providers to operate our platform:

  • Supabase — database hosting for subscriber data (encrypted at rest)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — website hosting
  • Google Analytics — anonymized traffic analytics

These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies and do not use your data for their own marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Subscriber data is retained for as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our active mailing list. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention policies.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Unsubscribe from any email at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email we send
  • Request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email below
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you

Cookies

We use minimal cookies and local storage:

  • Google Analytics cookies — for anonymized traffic measurement
  • Local storage flags — to remember if you've dismissed a notification or already subscribed (these stay on your device and are not sent to our servers)

CAN-SPAM Compliance

All commercial emails sent by KilowattLogic comply with the CAN-SPAM Act:

  • Every email identifies KilowattLogic as the sender
  • Every email contains a functioning unsubscribe mechanism
  • We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days
  • We do not use deceptive subject lines
